Mary Kathyren (Kathy) Smyth, age 89 of Bulls Gap, Tennessee passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024, surrounded by family and friends.

Kathy was born on January 22, 1935 to parents Ed and Birdie Smith and was blessed with one sister, Pearl Beilharz and one brother, Francis Smith.

Kathy met Albert (Tommy) Smyth and was happily married  for 63 years. Kathy and Tommy had three daughters, Kathy Sue McKelvey (Tom McKelvey, deceased), Marilyn Ann Smiley (Scott Smiley), and Kimberly May King.

Kathy was a beloved grandmother to seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, six great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathy’s family describes her life as being dedicated to her family. She was a lover of bluegrass and attended many music festivals. Her laugh and smile would lightup a room and she was truly a loving and giving person – adored by everyone she met.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 6 at Brough Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10a.m. with services at 11a.m. followed by the gravesite service at 1p.m.
