Angela Marie Wicker, lovingly known as Angie, passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2026, at Miami Valley Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.
Angie was born in Kettering, Ohio, on February 19, 1974. She graduated from Kettering Fairmont High School in 1992. She began her career at GM Moraine Truck and Bus, where she worked until the plant’s closure in 2008. She then followed a new calling and became a registered nurse, spending the last 10+ years of her life caring for and helping those in need. Nursing was more than a career for Angie—it was another way she expressed the compassion and strength that came so naturally to her.
Some of Angie’s happiest childhood memories were made during summers spent at her grandparents’ farm in Hillsborough. She loved playing in the creek, riding the tractor with her Papa Bill, and, in true Angie fashion, spending time with the cats—including teaching them how to swim. Those summers became treasured memories that stayed with her throughout her life.
Angie loved her family and friends. Her children were the loves of her life. She shared her love as a Sunday school teacher at Fairborn Freewill Baptist Church, where her incredible creativity and brilliant mind allowed her to bring lessons to life in her own unique way. She also had a lifelong love of horses, another passion that brought her joy and reflected her independent and spirited nature.
Angie will be remembered for so many things: her dark humor, sarcastic wit, and, of course, her infamous angry killer eyebrow. She possessed an incredibly brilliant mind and seemed to excel at everything she attempted. She was fiercely independent, endlessly creative, and never afraid to be completely herself. Those who knew her best will remember her laughter, her quick comebacks, her strength, and all the little things that made Angie unmistakably Angie.
Above all, Angie was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, friend, and nurse whose presence made an impact on the lives of countless people. Her sudden passing leaves an enormous emptiness for those who loved her, but her memory will live on in the stories, laughter, lessons, and love she leaves behind.
Angie is survived by her children, Caleb Wicker and Makayla Wiley; her parents, Doug and Debbie Wicker; her brother and sister, Justin Wicker and Amy Wicker; and dear family and friends who were blessed to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved maternal grandparents, Bill and Garnet Violet and beloved paternal grandparents, Melvin and Shirley Wicker.
Angie was one of a kind, and she will be deeply missed, fiercely remembered, and forever loved.
